In the struggle against the erroneous tendencies of dogmatizing Marxism and sanctifying the resolutions of the Communist International and the experience of the Soviet Union, Mao Zedong authored the monumental work Oppose Book Worship. This work systematically elaborates on the significance of investigation and research and embodies profound thoughts on this work. Rooted in the principle of seeking truth from facts, investigation and research serves as the prerequisite for putting forward opinions, the approach to solving problems, and the bridge connecting the Party with the people. Its scientific connotations offer valuable enlightenment: as we respond to risks and challenges, resolve development bottlenecks, advance the sustained progress of the Party and the country’s undertakings, and strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, we must vigorously promote investigation and research and resist erroneous tendencies; adhere to investigative and research methods to facilitate problem-solving; and fully leverage the bridge linking the Party and the people to align with the people’s aspirations.
