Historical nihilism is an erroneous ideological trend guided by idealist historical view. It attempts to distort and alter history, deny the objective laws of history, and negate the guiding position of Marxism, in order to undermine historical consensus, shake mainstream values, and destabilize college students' political beliefs, distort their historical cognition, and weaken their cultural self-confidence. In the era of social media, historical nihilism spreads wantonly through various social platforms, posing a serious impact on the historical and value perspectives of contemporary college students. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the dissemination characteristics of historical nihilism in the social media environment and its harm to college students, and propose targeted countermeasures to help college students effectively resist historical nihilism.
