Li He, the poet of the Middle Tang Dynasty, is famous for his ghost poems. His ghost poems mainly describe the fairy and ghost contents, with strange, dangerous, beautiful, absurd and mysterious style, which is unique in the poetry circle of the Middle Tang Dynasty. His tragic life experiences and social customs in the Middle Tang Dynasty are the direct reasons for the formation of his writing style. Li He expressed his desire for the ideal world and his resistance to the real life through the image of ghosts and spirits. The ghosts and spirits poems contained his reflection on history, his sorrow for time and his desire for love. This paper statistics the fairy and ghost content in Li He's poems, sorts out the literary origin of Li He's creation of ghost poems, and analyzes the inner meaning of Li He's ghost poems combined with specific works, and explores the value and influence of Li He's ghost poems.
