Abstract

In this paper, the psychological "cognitive-emotion-behavior" of individual behavior intention as the research framework, to study the public's cognition, emotion and behavior of mass events, in-depth exploration of individual participation in mass events. In 2022, during the COVID-19 prevention and control period in Shanghai, G community, due to poor management of the epidemic, unreasonable announcement of the removal of quarantine, and forced imposition of makeshift hospitals on neighboring primary schools, caused residents' discontent and mass incidents. This paper makes an empirical analysis of the residents of G community in Shanghai, and tries to reveal that the sense of social justice and subjective satisfaction have a significant negative impact on the willingness of individuals to participate in mass incidents. Collective efficacy and anger positively influence individual participation in group events. Based on this, we will assist local government departments and staff to clarify the factors affecting the occurrence of mass incidents, reduce the probability of mass incidents, and put forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions from the dimension of government and citizens to prevent and deal with sudden mass incidents, so as to defuse the risk of social stability and ensure social stability and harmony.
