In order to explore the subtypes of left behind children during parents-child separation, clsuter analysis methods were conducted with 234 sample data of left behind middle school students from rural areas in China. The results shown that:with the indicatives of social adjustment functions , the participants samples were classified into four subtypes: high-risk, mixed-adjusted, well-adjusted, less-motivated, in which the scores of peer attachment quality and psychological resilience are lowest in high-risk subgroup and highest in the well-adjusted one. The discriminant function of social adjustment indicated that the classfication is validi and helpful to provide preliminary guide for the individualized education and intervention.
