廖平为中国近代经学大师，是中国学术近代转型时期的关键人物，他著作宏富，遍及群经，被冯友兰、黄开国等人称为经学时代的终结。自1932年廖平逝世后，学界展开了对他的研究，开始对其经学文献进行整理，对其经学六变、经学思想、在中国经学史的地位，以及与康有为、张之洞等人之关系进行深入的讨论，取得了丰硕的研究成果。学界的研究从研究内容来看，集中在廖平经学六变、经学思想、价值、地位以及与康有为的纠葛；从研究方法来看，注重线性的史、论结合，以廖平经学六变为纲，呈现出以点带面的特点。这种零散化、割裂式研究的弊端已经显现，它

Liao Ping is China's modern classics master and a key figure in academic transition period. He had a lot of works and Involved in classics. This fragmentation, separated from the malpractice in the study have already appeared. It do not understand Liao Ping's academic evolution Internal logic comprehensively. Systematic and Integrated research will be direction of research in the future.
