Based on the surveys of organizational establishments of 75 key university libraries in China, the paper analyzes their current situations and some problems exist to deal with. Finally, an optimized organizational establishment model of university libraries has been constructed with consideration of above two aspects, in which the reader service department will be placed in the center of the entire library and a network will be set up that provides the readers a all-round, “one-stop” type of information service by discipline information acquisition librarians of collection development department, librarians of discipline-based literature storehouse and discipline information reference librarians of reference department.
