摘要/Abstract

印度当代作家阿拉文德·阿迪加在作品中关注印度的庶民境遇，传递庶民的诉求，以此获得了国际声誉。然而他的小说在批判印度社会种种弊端的同时，却对影响庶民命运的全球资本主义保持暧昧。他赋予庶民言说的权力，似乎成功建构了觉醒的庶民形象，但这种觉醒也带有悖论色彩，因为他不但未能充分认识庶民困境的根源，而且表现出与全球资本主义合谋的倾向。因此，作为全球化时代的后殖民作家，阿迪加还需要进一步扬弃他的书写策略。

Indian Contemporary Writer Aravind Adiga has won international fame with his concern for the subaltern situation in India and delivering their aspirations, but his novels exhibit ambiguity toward global capitalism with insufficient criticism while repudiating various social abuses in India. It seems that Adiga has successfully constructed images of awakening subalterns by empowering them to speak and materialize their aspirations; However, such awakenings are trapped in paradox, since he has not only failed to fully recognize the source of their dilemma, but also show complicity with global capitalism. Therefore, as a postcolonial writer, Aravind Adiga has to further sublate his writing strategies.
