姓氏是标志社会结构中一种血缘传承关系的符号。姓氏文化源远流长，内涵丰厚，是中国古代文化的有机组成部分。随着科学研究的进步和社会“文化寻根”热的兴起，姓氏越来越凸显其独特的文化价值。从文化溯源的角度研究中国姓氏的起源与演变，分析中国姓氏文化的深层内涵和社会功能，有助于更加全面地认识中国人姓氏演变的历程、姓氏文化对古代社会的影响以及与遗传科学偶合的寻根心理。

The surnames and clan names are cultural symbols which represent the blood relationship in Chinese social structure. Both of them have a long history and plump connotation as an important part of Chinese culture. With the developing of related science and the hot of seeking for the origin of culture, the Chinese surnames and clan names show their special cultural value. Research on the features of the culture of Chinese surnames and clan names by following the clue of their origins and development, and based on which to illustrate their social functions. It is significant for all Chinese to remember their blood and cultural root.
