本文分析了“气韵生动”美学范畴的内涵和层次，指出它对汉诗英译具有借鉴意义，并以宇文所安英译李白诗歌为例，从三个维度探讨了译诗的美学价值。译诗再现了原诗“气”美的复调诗性美，混融诗性移情美，反射了原诗“韵”美的情感韵味美、音韵美和形式整饬美，根本之处在于译诗的“生动”美，显示了译者对生命形式的追求。

This paper analyzes the aesthetic category and hierarchy of Qi(vitality), Yun(rhythm) and Sheng Dong（vividness）, pointing out their significance for English translation of Chinese poetry. It takes as an example Stephen Owen’s English translation of Li Bai’s poems, and explores the aesthetic value of his translated verses from three different dimensions. His translated verses represent the complex tone beauty of the “vitality” beauty and the interfusing poetic empathy beauty in the source poems. They also reflect the lingering charm of passion, rhythm beauty and formal orderly beauty in the “rhythm” beauty of source poems. Most important of all, the “vividness” beauty shows his pursuit of life form.
