The aesthetic views of being “latent and out-standing” in The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons, are of the vital importance not only to the guide of literary creation and appreciation, but also to the English translation of Classic Chinese poetry. “The layered significance” in “the latent elements” and “the uniquely rising-up” in “the outstanding”, are used in the evaluation of the aesthetic value in the English translation of Classic Chinese poetry. This paper discusses about the aesthetic features of being “latent and out-standing” in the translation of images and the rhetoric partial tone and sound malapropism, pointing out the “latent and out-standing” aesthetic views as the important criteria in checking the loyalty of translated verses. Meanwhile, the different transformation of “Yin” (latent expression) and “Xie” (ironic humor) reflects the translators’ different aesthetic subjectivity.
