Ezra Pound’s creative English translation of the Chinese classic poems has not totally eliminated the Western literary traditions in spite of his deep influence of Chinese literary traditions. From the ancient-oriented tradition of Pound’s translation poetics, the Western classic discourse mode, the narrative tradition of the Western literature, and the rationalist logical tradition of the Western culture, this paper explores his unsurpassable anxiety and his love-hatred-interwoven “Oedipus Complex” to the Western literary traditions.
