The widespread adoption of digital and intelligent media has fundamentally transformed public language communication patterns; fragmented, entertainment-oriented, and formulaic online expressions have become the dominant mode of interaction among young people. The resulting phenomenon of "cyberaphasia" has emerged as a typical example of social linguistic degeneration in contemporary society. Today's youth often exhibit an excessive reliance on internet slang, memes, and minimalist abbreviations as part of their linguistic habits; however, their prolonged lack of standardized, comprehensive, and nuanced linguistic input and output has led to various issues—such as limited lexical reserves, narrow syntactic usage, hollow pragmatic expression, and inadequate discourse construction skills—ultimately resulting in a functional linguistic aphasia characterized by "being able to feel but unable to express it, or having words but lacking proper structure." From a linguistic research perspective, this paper clarifies the conceptual framework of cyberaphasia, summarizes its typical characteristics, analyzes the underlying causes of cyberaphasia among young people in the digital and intelligent era, and proposes targeted, actionable governance strategies. These strategies aim to help young people overcome linguistic inertia, restore their language proficiency, redevelop their discourse construction competencies, regulate the online language ecosystem, and safeguard the integrity, richness, and critical thinking inherent in Chinese linguistic expression.
