General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out at the Symposium on Cultural Inheritance and Development: "Opening up and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics on the profound foundation of more than five thousand years of Chinese civilization, and combining the basic principles of Marxism with China's specific realities and fine traditional Chinese culture is the only way. This is a law-based understanding we have gained in exploring the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics." [1] The study of the relationship between Marxism and fine traditional Chinese culture is a major theoretical and practical issue for socialism with Chinese characteristics in the newera, and also the key to understanding the cultural foundation of Chinese-style modernization.
