This paper takes the traditional Japanese clothing featured in the animated film Spirited Away as its research subject, examining it from a semiotic perspective. By analyzing the Japanese garments appearing in the film—such as yukata, kariginu, and masks—it delves into the cultural significance embedded in these distinctive items of attire, exploring the deeper cultural meanings conveyed through Japanese traditional dress.
