In the evolution of ancient Chinese philosophy, the thoughts of Confucius and Mencius exhibit distinct differences from those of Xunzi, while the ideology of "abolishing all other thoughts in favor of Confucianism" represents a distorted yet rich historical episode. This paper delves into the intertwined relationship between this ideology and Confucianism, conducting a comparative analysis of the viewpoints held by Confucius and Mencius versus those of Xunzi's thought. Furthermore, it reveals the profound impacts that both Confucianism and Xunzi's thought had on the Han Dynasty's adoption of the ideology of "abolishing all other thoughts in favor of Confucianism." Initially, the Confucianism advocated by Confucius and Mencius under the banner of "exclusive advocacy of Confucianism" gradually became blurred during its historical development in the Han Dynasty. However, Xunzi's thought, in its adaptability to historical changes and advancements, was integrated into this process, fostering a codependent relationship that further elevated the supremacy of monarchical power to new heights.
