Geographical environment is the material basis for human survival and a necessary condition for the development of civilization. In the process of the formation of human civilization, the geographical environment in which it is located will have a greater or lesser impact on the political, economic and cultural life at that time. In ancient Greece, the influence of geography on the development of civilization was particularly significant and more direct. In a sense, it is precisely because of the unique geographical environment of ancient Greece that the ancient Greek civilization with a distinctive personality was created. Ancient Greek civilization is one of the sources of Western civilization and plays a pivotal role in the history of world civilization. It is of far-reaching reference significance to explore the relationship between the geographical environment of ancient Greece and its civilization. This paper attempts to explain the different influences on the politics, economy, and culture of ancient Greece from the perspective of geographical environment, so as to prove that geographical environment conditions played a significant role in the development of ancient Greek civilization.
