中国当代作家阿城的《棋王》和奥地利作家斯蒂芬·茨威格的《象棋的故事》，都不约而同地以棋艺为题材，以动乱岁月为背景进行创作，二者有许多相似之处，颇具异曲同工之妙。但同时，两部作品一中一西，也必然存在着多方面的差异。文章立足于两部作品本身，从故事背景、叙事策略、人物塑造以及所传递出来的文化选择等方面进行比较分析。同中有异，异中有同，挖掘探究“棋盘对弈”背后的“棋外之意”。

Chinese contemporary writer Acheng's Chess King and Austrian writer Stephan Zweig's Chess Story both take chess skills as the theme and the turbulent years as the background. They have many similarities. But at the same time, there must be many differences between the two works, one in the middle and one in the west. Based on the two works themselves, this paper makes a comparative analysis from the aspects of story background, narrative strategy, character shaping and cultural choice conveyed by them. There are differences in the same, and there are differences in the same, excavating and exploring the "outside the meaning" behind the "chessboard".
