For different nationalities, marriage is one of the most important event of one’s life, and it is also a solemn etiquette. People in different cultures have good hopes for marriage and the right to pursue happiness independently. Influenced by political, economic and cultural factors, the marriage types of Chinese in Cambodia can be divided into three types: arranged marriage, allocated marriage and untrammeled marriage, among which allocated marriage is the historical product of the Khmer Rouge period, reflecting the difficult survival history of Chinese in Cambodia in a specific historical period. It is another perspective for us to understand the marriage types of Chinese in Cambodia, explore the underlying reasons , and consider the survival of Chinese in Cambodia behind the phenomenon.
