由于计算机技术的发展，现代语言学研究中引入计算机技术协助进行研究渐渐成为主流，语言学研究需要大量的数据来支撑，数据的数量越多则研究的结论越严谨。但随之而来不得不解决的是人工难以处理数以万计的数据。这时可以借助计算机强大的计算能力来解决这一问题，只要设计好程序，计算机就能自动的处理任意数量的数据，是最适合处理大规模数据的工具。
