Due to few adjectives related to food nature, state, sense and taste in Japanese, onomatopoeic and mimic words (or オノマトペin Japanese) are used to supplement. According to surveys, the textbooks used in Japanese education quote only a small amount of onomatopoeic and mimic words, which makes learners difficult to master the language full of onomatopoeic and mimic words. In addition, by using onomatopoeic and mimic words properly, the expression of Japanese will become more appropriate and vivid. Therefore, the paper takes the food program “lonely gourmet” as the main research object, selecting onomatopoeic and mimic words that describe food sense in Japanese based on words of five senses and meaning occurring in this program, in order to analyze the usage of onomatopoeic and mimic words that describe food sense.
