Convenience store plays a very important role in Japanese daily life. In recent years, research on The Politeness Strategies in convenience stores, restaurants, hotels and other places
increased. But most studies to date limited to the side of practitioners. Study of customers is still lacking. The thesis aims to Research the Politeness Strategies in Verbal Behavior of Japanese in the convenience store. Through investigation we can see that 68% of the Japanese have a tendency to use politeness strategies to the staff in convenience store after shopping. In terms of sexual difference, women use politeness strategies more often than men. A detailed analysis has been done in this thesis.
