Movie Memories of Matsuko”, directed by Japanese director Tetsuya Nakashima, was based on a novel written by Muneki Yamada. The film told a brief and bumpy life story of the heroine Matsuko Kawajiri. As a neglected family member when she was a child, the lack of love left Matsuko indelible traumas. In her unsettled life, these experiences made her use unlimited love and all she can give to others in order to recover losses in her childhood. However, unfortunately she lost her life when she was trying to start a new life. All she can do is to satisfy her desires in her dreamland. This paper intended to use psychoanalysis principles to interpret Matsuko’s existence and explore the internal reason that caused Matsuko’s tragic life.
