The literary and artistic style of Mencius is characterized by the use of metaphor, parallelism and repetition, comparison and contrast, sentence isomorphism and so on. This paper analyses the strategies, similarities and dissimilarities of the reproduction of literary style of the English translation of Mencius. Combined with examples of morphology, syntax and stylistic features of colloquialism, the paper expounds the features of the translation and transition of the literary style of Mencius based on the versions of three translators. Although the translatability of style is limited and the style is nameless to some extent, proper translation strategies can transmit and reproduce the unique style and aesthetic effect of the original work.
