Along with the globalization of the world economy, the transformation of economic development, industrialization, information technology, and domestic needs of building an innovative country, there are increasing demands for professional engineering talent. This paper introduced the American history of the development of engineering education, based on two famous American universities’ cultivation practice for the degree of master of engineering (MOE), we introduce the admissions requirements, training mode, degree requirements and expound their respective characteristics and their similarities and differences of these two universities; thus summarize the main features of the training model and experience for the degree of MOE and propose some recommendation to facilitate the implementation of our country.
