《五灯会元》中的“出队”不能解释为“出了行列”或“出队列”，而是我国佛教禅宗的专有名词，是“住持有事遠出”之意，“队”为“集体”之意。“出队”亦作“出乡”，“乡”为“同辈、同类”之意。“出队”“出乡”亦作“出”。《汉语大词典》未收“出队”及“出乡”两词，收录“出”，但“出”的义项中未收“出队”或“出乡”这一义项，应该补收。
