Confucianism is the dominant ideology of Edo period, but many scholars also studied Taoism. For example, the poem “Cheng da zhao shang ren jian ji lin yuan long” cited the Chinese origin of' Lin Xiyi' and 'Nan hua', truly reflected that in Edo period of Japan, Confucianism and Taoism and Buddhism produced some effect on each other. In addition, we can see Kan Chashan’s Taoist feelings in his landscape poems. He wanted to merge into an organic whole with the nature, and he looked forward to live in seclusion.
