As one of the texts for teaching and studying the Japanese literature, Chinese poetry by Jian Chashan showed us a picture of Japanese history and custom in the form of Chinese poetry. So we are able to pursue the history of Japan, to observe the social transition of the end of edo times, to comment on the historical figures with the writer and to grasp the essence of Japanese social development when appreciating the poetry. And it also provides us with a three-dimensional and thought-provoking mirror through which we could know about the history and culture of the end of edo times.
