摘要/Abstract

本文提出了一种从英语词典（包括英英词典、英汉词典及英语与其它语种的词典）中快速查找英语单词的方法。将词典中每一页的第一个单词或特征字母提取出来，按页码顺序排列起来形成单词检索表。将该单词检索表放在词典正文的前面，这样人们在查找单词时，可先在单词检索表中确定出该单词所处的页码，然后在词典中找到该页，就找到了该单词。与传统的在英语词典中查找单词的方法相比，利用该检索方法可以快速地查找到单词，提高学习和工作效率。

A method for searching English words in English dictionary (including English-English dictionary, English-Chinese dictionary, and English-other languages dictionaries) has been proposed in this paper. A index of English words has been constructed by listing the first word (or characteristic letters combination) of every page of the dictionary and its pape number. This index is placed in front of the dictionary. When people search for words in the dictionary, they first search for the words in the index, to get the page numbers of the words. Then they will found the words in the dictionary using the page numbers of the words. Compared with the traditional method of word searching in English dictionary, this words searching method can quickly find the words in the dictionary and it improves the efficiency of study and work.
