Abstract:Charlotte Perkins Gilman's 'The Yellow Wallpaper' was published at the turn of the 20th century, it was recognized as a woman's insanity discourse at the time. Upon interpreting it interdisciplanrily with sociology, this paper will draw upon its positive literal function-----voicing women identity quest and arousing female consciousness. The protagonist and the woman writer, Gilman are acclained as heriones for their identity negotiations. This paper aims at reconstruction of hamonious bi-sexual relationship and caring for women in the society.
