受教育经历：
1984年毕业于北京师范大学数学系；
1989年硕士毕业于吉林工业大学应用数学系；
1997年博士毕业于中国科学院应用数学所；
1997年至1999年在北京师范大学进行博士后的研究工作。
奖励：
论文《双层优化的信赖域算法》获得教育部第三届哲学社会科学三等奖;
论文《双层优化的精确罚函数》获得第八届中国人民大学优秀科研成果一等奖。
主要研究方向
管理科学（运筹学），物流管理，项目管理以及交通网络设计。
在国内外核心期刊上发表几十篇高质量的论文，其中多篇被SCI检索。曾经解决了国外一些学者提出的两个公开问题，确定了一类非光滑迭代函数的存在性。
主持和参加了多项国家和省部委的科研基金项目。其中，主持目前在研的国家自然科学基金项目《双层优化理论、算法及其应用》（13万元 ），《双层优化在管理中的应用》（14万元），教育部十五规划项目《主从决策在物流管理中的应用》（3万元）， 以及北京市教委精品教材建设项目《数据建模与决策》（2万元）。其他类型的科研经费60万元。
和国内外的学者联系密切。受香港城市大学数学系主任张建中的邀请，多次访问香港城市大学，进行学术合作研究。曾经受香港科技大学杨海教授的邀请，访问香港科技大学，进行学术合作研究。去年，加拿大维多利亚大学邀请刘国山作为访问教授访问该校和该校的叶娟娟教授进行合作研究。 共
在进行理论研究的同时，注重理论和实践之间的结合。主持并设计了中国石油天然气公司东北大区的《成品油运输优化决策支持系统》项目以及主持了中国石油天然气公司的《成品油运输优化模型》研究项目。
同时参加了中国人民大学和TCL公司合作的《彩电发货决策支持系统》，以及中国人民大学和中国国债登记中心合作的《货币市场基金》项目的研究。
