with a view of the mutual construction of language and culture, the paper is to clarify the linguistic construction of philosophy. It explores two basic writing formations: ideographic and phonetic, and points out the oppositeness between them and their different philosophical meanings. Chinese and Western languages are ideographic and phonetic respectively. Then it examines the opposing language logics of Chinese and Western languages caused and distinguished by their different writing formations. In the end, it focuses on how the opposing formations and language logics construct the antithesis between Chinese and Western Philosophies.
